Rural King will also be bringing approximately 80 jobs into the area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-left alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newbostonvillage.com\/wp-content\/gallery\/2017businessnews\/rural-king-1.jpg\" alt=\"rural-king-1\" width=\"548\" height=\"276\"><em>The former Kmart building will sit dark and vacant no more as Rural King plans opening for September.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited and thankful for the Rural King family for their investment in our community and the economic impact these jobs are going to have for New Boston and Scioto County,\u201d New Boston Mayor William Williams stated. \u201cI have had conversations with the owner of the building, as well as architects and the general contractor about the possibility of Rural King looking to locate in New Boston since mid-April and only recently, after talking to the management team and district manager, received official word of the opening. It certainly was good news that they may occupy the building so soon after the closing of K-Mart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to announcing the opening, Rural King has already started the hiring process, holding open interviews all last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Village hosted a job fair by the Rural King management team at the New Boston Community Center. Hundreds of applicants have applied thus far,\u201d Williams added. \u201cI have seen a tremendous response from the community for the much needed jobs. We have a great workforce here in Scioto County, and I am certain that they will be able to assemble a professional working team for their business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Renovation drawings have been submitted and the remodeling has begun on the Rural King building.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Building Department looks forward to working with the architects and contractors to facilitate a smooth transition during this renovation stage,\u201d Williams commented.<\/p>\n<p>Rural King is known as \u201cAmerica\u2019s farm and home store\u201d and is similar to combination of Tractor Supply, Lowe\u2019s and Walmart all under one roof.<\/p>\n<p>Rural King offers farming needs, rugged wear, groceries, lawn and garden, automotive, housewares, toys and even baby chicks and bunnies.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about Rural King or to shop online, visit www.ruralking.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Village of New Boston is excited to announce that the former K-Mart building will not sit empty much longer as Rural King plans opening for September.
