In honor of that event, Newville Little League presented Sheryl Shoemaker, league coach in the 1960s, a plaque before a game at Millbrook Park.

Village participates in Summer Food Program

We cannot display this galleryThe Ephphatha Outreach Center, in Portsmouth, is hosting free summer feeding program for children age 1-18 at parks all across Scioto County. The Village of New Boston is proud to participate by allowing the program access to Millbrook Park and Village Park in New Boston. The program provides hot meals for children at dinner time. Monday through Friday, until Aug. 20.

2010 Community Yard Sale

We cannot display this galleryThe Second Annual New Boston Community Yard Sale was June 5, 2010; as residents all over the village came out at once to sell their old items, find new bargains, and get to know their neighbors. No permit is required to participate in the annual community yard sale.

This year’s event was coordinated by Bryce Flowers (pictured).

Public Meeting Notice

The New Boston Planning Commission Board will have a public meeting on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 4 p.m., in Room 16 of the Community Center to consider a request from Winnie Keaton to re-zone property at 3845 Rhodes Avenue from residential to commercial. Village Trash Pick-Up

Beginning June 7, 2010, the village trash pick-up will be on the following schedule:

MONDAY – Hill Street, Glenwood Avenue, and all areas west of Glenwood. Also all dumpsters.
TUESDAY – no pick-up.
WEDNESDAY – brush truck pick-up only.
THURSDAY – All areas east of Glenwood, and north to the corporation lines.
FRIDAY – All dumpsters pick-up.

Village Veteran’s Day Ceremony

We cannot display this galleryCol. Terry Johnson spoke during the Village of New Boston Memorial Day Ceremony, at Millbrook Park Veteran’s Memorial, on May 20.

Members of American Legion Post 23 presented the colors and taps, and New Boston School band played the National Anthem. Invocation was delivered by New Boston Village Councilman Jon Mills.
