Each year, the Village of New Boston collects and delivers gifts to needy families in the county. This year’s event was coordinated by Diane Davis, of the New Boston Police Department, and delivered to more than 400 people. The village would like to thank everyone who donated to the 2008 toy drive, and also those who volunteered their time to help collect, shop, wrap or deliver these gifts. Newman appointed to council
During the regular meeting of the New Boston Village Council on Nov. 18, council members voted to appoint Marcella Newman to the vacant village council seat. Newman will complete the unexpired term left by the resignation of former council member Steve Hamilton and voters will have a chance to decide the permanent replacement when the original term expires in 2009. Newman will serve as chair of the Streets and Alley Committee.
Breakfast with Santa
Breakfast with Santa is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, 9-11 a.m., at the Vern Riffe Community Center, Rhodes Avenue, New Boston.
